Children and education

We give children hope for a productive and fulfilling future by providing healthcare, education, opportunities for development, mentoring, counseling, foster care and adoption.

We work actively towards the second MDG (Millennium Development Goal) to achieve access to education. 520,000 children are able to access supported nursery and primary education in 32 countries. Children that started studying in our slum schools 15-20 years ago are now accessing University courses with the prospects of being able to earn ten times more than their parents.

We also recognize that women hold the key to successfully developing communities and families so are working towards the seventh MDG to empower women. Women are trained to set up businesses in Indonesia, India and Zambia; and provided with micro-credit loans so that they can support their families.

We empower disadvantaged young adults and youth to become productive members of society through basic educational assistance, vocational and technology training, mentoring, teaching, and arts and sports programmes.
