At HOPE worldwide UK, we would like to invite you to join the HOPE worldwide Challenge 2021!

What is the HOPE worldwide Challenge?

This October, we are hosting The HOPE worldwide Challenge 2021. This is an opportunity for you to host your own fundraiser in support of our beneficiaries.  We are encouraging YOU to take part in whatever way you can to raise funds in support of people facing homelessness and addiction recovery this month.

In the UK, we help people facing homelessness to find suitable accommodation through our Two Step programme, and we help men escaping substance addiction to live in abstinent recovery through our ODAAT programme. Our supporters play a critical part in helping us to run these programmes.

Our goal for the challenge is to raise a total of at least £40,000 through the combined fundraising of our supporters. You could do anything from a sponsored walk, to baking and selling cookies, to showcasing your art skills by organising a painting workshop!

It’s so easy to sign up! Simply click here and select the ‘Take Part’ button, where you can set up your individual fundraising page by following the guided steps. Once you have created your page, share the link with your friends and family and ask them to support you!

History of the HOPE worldwide Challenge

Thirteen years ago, we organised an outdoor adventure to raise funds for our substance addiction rehabilitation programme, ODAAT, which we called the ‘ODAAT Challenge’. It began as a three-day hike up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, and has since become an annual event to raise funds for our ODAAT programme. Over the years, our wonderful supporters have signed up to help raise funds for us. They have taken on different challenges, such as the Brecon Beacons and the South Downs, with groups of walkers and runners. Two Step, our homeless service programme, has also had huge fundraising success with the ‘Two Million Steps for Two Step’ walk across London in previous years.

Last year, we had our first virtual ODAAT Challenge. Supporters got involved with a host of activities, such as litter-picking, running, rowing, press-ups, virtual events, and more. This enabled 39 supporters to inspire 592 donations, raising a total of over £25,000, including Gift Aid.

We want to say another huge THANK YOU to the 39 supporters (and their teammates) who got involved to fundraise for us last year!

Participants took part in a range of events, such as a sponsored run (pictured above), a litter pick-up, a press-up challenge, and a virtual scavenger hunt

Thank you for all that you do to support our ODAAT and Two Step programmes. We hope to fundraise with as many of you as possible this October!
