Delivering affordable, high-quality education for children in the area

The HOPE foundation School in Pudupattinam, Tamil Nadu

In the aftermath of the devastating 2004 tsunami, which claimed nearly 8,000 lives in Tamil Nadu, India, the HOPE foundation stepped forward to help rebuild and restore the community. A beacon of hope emerged in the form of the HOPE foundation Nursery and Primary School, located in the Pudupattinam Fishermen Colony. This school was specifically designed to provide quality education to children from impoverished families, many of whom were directly affected by the disaster.

In partnership with HOPE worldwide UK, the school educates 215 students from Nursery to Grade 5, and delivers a comprehensive curriculum that includes English, Tamil, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and basic computer classes for primary school students.

The average class size is 30 students.

Beyond academics, the school offers many extracurricular activities, such as sports, an Eco Club, and a summer club for school holidays.

The cost to send one child to the Pudupattinam School for the year is £133, and every donation helps to maintain the school, provide essential resources, and ensure that these young minds continue to thrive.

Together, we can continue to transform lives in Pudupattinam through a solid education.  Join us in making a lasting impact in Pudupattinam — one child, one classroom at a time.
