By HOPE worldwide UK staff

After Maryna and Dariia Matviienko fled from the Russian attack on Ukraine in 2022, they not only found a new home, but also the kindness of a new family with their volunteer hosts Paul and Jemimah Rowden.

Thanks to the generous support of many, and the hospitality of our host families, HOPE worldwide UK has been able to match 103 Ukrainian refugees with our volunteer hosts in the UK, and provide support to 46 more who have been hosted outside of our volunteer network.

Click to watch an inspiring story of courage and generosity, as Maryna and Dariia discuss fleeing from the Russian attack, and what it’s been like to live with the Rowdens.
